Matt 9 and 10

Here's some things to think about for this week's reading:

1. What was Jesus's answer to the religious people who questioned them? What does that say about the character of Jesus?

2. What do we learn about Jesus when he had dinner at Matthew's house?

3. What do we learn from Jesus talking about fasting?

4. What observations do we make when Jesus heals the blind and possessed? What can we learn about people from this?

5. What do we learn about the harvest at the end of chapter 9?

6. What instructions does Jesus give the deciples and what can we learn from them? What do we learn about Christian persecution?

There it is. I look forward to reading your thoughts during the week and discussing God's Word on Sunday.

Matt 5 and 6

This week's reading is Matthew Chapters 5 and 6. Here's you're thoughts to ponder as you read it:

1. What is the big lesson we learn from the Beatitudes?

2. Why do you think Jesus makes a point to preach on the things he preaches in these chapters?

3. What do we learn about our relationship with God from Jesus in these lessons (focus on prayer for this one)?

Matt. 3 and 4

This week's reading is Matthew 3 and 4. Here's some questions to ask yourself as you read it:

1. Take note of the description of John the Baptist. And yet he was this big deal, got to baptize Jesus, and became such a key figure in the Bible. Why do you think this is?

2. Why do you think Jesus needed to go into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan? What was gained from that ordeal?

3. Why do you think Jesus picked 4 fishermen to be his first key followers?

4. What was the purpose of Jesus going around and healing the sick, casting out demons, and teaching in the synagogues?

I look forward to reading your comments as you work your way through this section of the Bible.
