It's been FOR EV ER!

Sorry it's been a while since my last update. I thought I'd throw out a few questions for us to ponder here since they've come up in the past couple of weeks.

1. How can one be sure that they're saved? What comfort/evidence does God provide us to let us know that we are saved?

2. What are your thoughts on the end of the world? The rapture, antichrist, tribulation, and all that good stuff. Is it something we should study? Is it something that could happen soon?

3. How reliable is the Bible?

I know these are kind of big questions. But they've been the center of much of our discussion lately. So I thought it'd be good to throw them up here for people to comment on.

Week of 2-10

Going with our format change, here's some of the things we discussed in class. Feel free to continue to comment on these. Also, there is a donut question in this post (if you answer it, I bring donuts). Can you guess which question it is?

-In the book of Matthew, Jesus prepares his followers for persecution. Now we don't expience persecution in the form of prison, punishment, and death, like some do in other parts of the world. But some times we still suffer from discrimination or stereotyping. Have there been any examples of where you've suffered any sort of persecution for your faith? What was it and how did you deal with it?

-We also talked about homosexuality. We kind of went all over the map on this one. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Here are some other questions to get you thinking:
-Matthew 13 is full of parables. Which of the ones in this chapter do you like?

-Matthew 14 includes the story of Jesus walking on water and calling to Peter to walk on the water with him. Yet after a few steps, Peter begins to sink. What does this tell us about the faith of man?

That's it. Hope everyone has a good week.
